Brief Bio
SeongHwan Cho received the B.S. degree in EE from KAIST, Daejeon, Korea, in 1995, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in EECS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, in 1997 and 2002, respectively. During the summer of 1999, he was with IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, NY. In 2002, he joined Engim Inc., where he was involved in data converters, phased-locked loops (PLL) and voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) design for IEEE 802.11(a)(b)(g) WLANs. In 2003-2004, he served the military of Korea as a public service agent. Since November of 2004, he has been with KAIST in the department of EE, where he is now a professor. His research interests include analog and mixed-signal circuits for communication, sensors and biomedical applications. He was a visiting research scientist at Marvell, Santa Clara, USA from 2016 to 2017 investigating efficient RF power amplifier for WIFI and Android Wear Team of Google, London, UK from 2016 to 2017 exploring cardiovascular health-care using machine learning and smart devices.
